I can’t really say I like Floyds, but this particular song touches me very deeply, for as a psychotherapist I am faced with the denial and "turning away" from problems and "coldness inside" all too often.
I used to shed tears when listening to this song and goosebumps appeared all over my arms. All those memories and thoughts about all the people that are just unable to swim out of their darkness seemed to have a strong influence on me. I have always observed the negativity all around me with deep sadness in my heart.
Today, there are no more tears, no more goosebumps - they have all been replaced by the absence of sadness in my heart and by the sheer awareness that suffering and sadness are only one way of looking at the world we live in. It is all a matter of believes, a question of perception. Nothing else.
I shed no more tears for those that just don’t or can’t make it out of their self-manifest dungeon because I know that it is very very easy thing to do, with the help from above.
